Objectives:Upon completion of this course the learner will to describe: - The different categories of combustible gas instruments (Whetstone bridge circuits and electro-chemical sensors).
- The basic characteristics and properties of natural gas.
- The fire triangle and flammable range of natural gas – lower explosive limit (LEL) and upper explosive limit (UEL).
- OSHA safe working levels for natural gas – 20% of the lower explosive limit.
- The use, operation, and inspection of combustible gas indicators.
- The use, operation, and inspection of flame ionization units.
- The hazards of carbon monoxide and techniques used to detect its presence.
- The principles of Wheatstone bridge circuits.
