Upon completion of this course, operating personnel will be able to:

  1. Identify and define the basic parts of a residential gas distribution system, including gas meters and regulators.
  2. Identify a proper location to install meters and regulators based on appropriate guidelines.
  3. List some devices that can protect the residential gas system from pressure damage.
  4. Determine proper meter and regulator size based on the load.
  5. Explain how to properly install a meter set and adjust the regulator's set point to the correct operating pressure.
  6. Discuss how to test the gas system for leaks.
  7. Discuss service wrap-up procedures.
